JB-500, Junction Box

JB-500 The JB-500 junction box was designed to provide a cost effective solution for interfacing the operator console computer to radars for very short range velocity measurement applications. This junction box is particularly appropriate for use in interior ballistic ranges for measuring up to few hundred meters depending on the projectile caliber and velocity.

At the heart of the JB-500 is a powerful dual channel A/D converter with a maximum sampling rate of 1.5MHz at 12-bit. The recording capability of this junction box is limited to 0.084 second, which is sufficient for most short range applications. However, the recording time can be increased by a factor of 2 to 8 simply by disabling the anti-aliasing filters, at the expense of minimal radar sensitivity degradation. For longer range application requiring virtually unlimited recording time, our JB-6000e model is preferred.

The JB-500 performs signal conditioning, sampling and transfer of the digital signals over a USB connection to the host computer. It supports two radar heads simultaneously. It has an analog trigger input which is compatible with our trigger devices (acoustic or flash detector).
