Flash Detector

A trigger device is required if the radar data acquisition needs to be synchronized with an external event such as the projectile exiting the muzzle. A flash detector can be used to achieve this goal.

The flash detector can be installed at a safe distance, pointing directly at the muzzle for detecting the muzzle flash. It is very rugged and can sustain the blast and shock of large caliber guns. This type of trigger device is very often used on large artillery guns where different firing elevation angles are used. Realigning the detector to accommodate different firing angles can be done in matter of seconds.

A special cable is required to use the flash detector.
