The
BDR-29010 Doppler radar antenna with motion capabilities
utilizes the Doppler principle to measure the velocity of
moving objects. It is particularly well suited for measuring the velocity at
the gun muzzle, but is also powerful enough to measure at medium range
depending on the caliber. This radar can be used to measure on standard
projectiles, projectiles with basebleed or tracer, high elevation mortars
and rockets, with calibers ranging from 5.56mm to 155mm.
The BDR-29010 can be used in fixed position, but its real advantage is the pre-programmed motion mode. Using the trajectory prediction tools of TestCenter, the antenna can follow pre-determined angles in azimuth and elevation to keep the projectile in the radar beam. In addition, features like motion using a remote control and direct motion from user defined angles are provided.
The BDR-29010 housing has been designed using machined aluminum, stainless steel and carbon fiber to provide robustness against choc and vibration (ex: gun blast) while minimizing weight. The entire unit is sealed to prevent dust and water from entering the housing and damaging the electronic components. The BDR-29010 can be assembled by one person in less than 15 minutes.
