Since its inception in 1996, Infinition Inc. has developed a strong expertise in Ballistic Instrumentation Radar Systems. High quality innovative products and services, timely delivery and superior customer support have all contributed to gaining customers and establishing our solid worldwide reputation.
In the early years, Infinition Inc. was specialized in software upgrade solutions for existing Doppler radar systems. It was then possible to reuse old Doppler radars with the latest Doppler processing technology developed by Infinition Inc. Doppler processing was entirely done digitally using the Fast Fourier Transform, which was providing substantial radar sensitivity improvement over the old analog zero crossing technique. The Infinition software was running on standard Windows based PC workstations, eliminating the need for the old generation analog processing electronics.Later on, Infinition Inc. initiated the development of different Doppler radar antenna models to complement its successful TestCenter Doppler processor software, allowing complete turnkey solutions to be offered to customers. Radar antennas working at 10.5GHz (X-Band) and at 35GHz are now part of the Infinition standard product line.
Different X-Band models are
available to address specific test requirements.
The 35GHz Doppler radar model has been developed for indoor range applications as well as for in-bore measurement. This radar model is very small and provides great flexibility and sensitivity when velocity measurement must be done on very small projectiles or for velocity measurement inside gun barrels (in-bore).
More recently, Infinition Inc., in partnership with
BAE Systems (U.S.), has fielded its first long range CW Doppler tracking
radar in United Kingdom (U.K). This was the result of more than five years
of research and development. This tracking radar has 41dBi gain antennas and
a transmitter power of 320 Watts maximum. Along with velocity and monopulse
processing, the radar also has the multi-frequency ranging capability,
allowing it to accurately measure distance of any moving targets. Its
real-time Doppler processor can detect up to 128 targets and can track up to
10 targets simultaneously. The system software is based on the powerful
TestCenter software developed by Infinition Inc., extended with tracking
radar specific functions. This radar has successfully passed all the
customer’s performance and accuracy requirements during the final acceptance
tests that occurred in both the
As a direct spin off of the development effort for building our first tracking radar, Infinition Inc. has developped a medium size full tracking CW Doppler radar especially designed for medium range ballistic testing. It is a cost effective solution that provides full featured tracking capabilities.
Over the years, Infinition Inc. has developed an extensive experience in ballistic radar instrumentation, in conventional Doppler radars as well as in advanced CW Doppler tracking radars.
